5、rtualpowersystem.”Thevirtualpowersystempermitstheindepthcoverageoftheprotectiverelayingconceptsinminimumtimemaximizesstudentundersting.Thetoolisnotusedinapassiveway.Indeedthestudentsactivelyparticipatewithwelldesignedpro
6、jectssuchasa)designimplementationofmultifunctionalrelaysb)relaytestingfspecificdisturbancesetc.Thepaperdescribesthevirtualpowersystemganization“engines”suchassolvervisualizationanimationofprotectiverelaysetc.Italsodiscus

8、oleinthesecurityreliabilityofelectricpowersystems.Asthetechnologyadvancesrelayinghasbecomemesophisticatedwithmanydifferentoptionsfimprovedprotectionofthesystem.Itisindisputablethatrelayinghasmadesignificantadvanceswithdr
9、amaticbeneficialeffectsonthesafetyofsystemsprotectionofequipment.Yetbecauseofthecomplexityofthesystemmultiplicityofcompetingfactsrelayingisachallengingdiscipline.Despitealloftheadvancesinthefieldunintendedrelayoperations
10、(misoperations)dooccur.Manyeventsofoutagesblackoutscanbeattributedtoinappropriaterelaying第41頁animationvisualizationobjects.Thevirtualpowersystemhasthefollowingfeatures:1)continuoustimedomainsimulationofthesystemunderstud
11、y2)abilitytomodify(fault)thesystemunderstudyduringthesimulationimmediatelyobservetheeffectsofthechanges3)advancedoutputdatavisualizationoptionssuchasanimated2D3Ddisplaysthatillustratetheoperationofanydeviceinthesystemund
12、erstudy.Theabovepropertiesarefundamentalfavirtualenvironmentintendedfthestudyofprotectiverelaying.Thefirstpropertyguaranteestheuninterruptedoperationofthesystemunderstudyinthesamewayasinaphysicallabaty:onceasystemhasbeen
13、assembleditwillcontinuetooperate.Thesecondpropertyguaranteestheabilitytoconnectdisconnectdevicesintothesystemwithoutinterruptingthesimulationofthesystemtoapplydisturbancessuchasafault.Thispropertyduplicatesthecapabilityo
14、fphysicallabatieswhereonecanconnectacomponenttothephysicalsystemobservethereactionimmediately(e.g.connectinganewrelaytothesystemobservingtheoperationoftheprotectiverelayinglogicapplyingadisturbanceobservingthetransientsa

19、jectsallowtheusertodefinethesimulatedsystemconnectivitygraphicallybymanipulatingasinglelinediagramusingthemouse.Resultvisualizationviewsallowtheusertoobservecalculatedresultsinavarietyofways.Severaltypesofresultvisualiza
