4、nese literature award system. The paper based on the system. Firstly, I summarized the historical background of the Maodun Prize in Literature, the selection condition, and analyzed the evaluati

5、on criteria. Secondly, the Maodun Prize in Literature is the official award for the n ovel. Its organizational system and value system formed its own characteristics gradually. The Chinese Write

6、rs Association, jury composition and the Maodun Prize in Literature’ s regulations play an important pole in this process. By analyzing these, I illustrated the institutional characteristics and

7、its reaction, and analyzed the method of conduction and restraint of writers, topics from the perspective of construction of the v alue system. Lastly, I took three cases for example to analyz

8、e the methods of these presentations. To some extent, Maodun Prize in Literature has its effect. On the one hand, it is good for increasing writers’enthusiasm and then the writers’sprit would

9、 be affirmed. On the other hand, as a part of official award, it should reflect the ideology- oriented inevitably. So, it must take Chinese characteristics, which the people criticized. Objectivel
