2、mode of economic growth, and the inevitable choice of making the province and people rich. As a big agricultural province, the responsibility of Hunan to make the province and people rich is very significant and difficul

3、ty. In order to push the new-type industrialization better, it is necessary for us to make an accurate evaluation on the level of new-type industrialization in Hunan province, in particular the city's new industriali

4、zation level. Based on the connotation of new-type industrialization, as well as the principle of constructing an evaluation index system, the paper collects 22 indicators from seven aspects, such as the process of indu

5、strialization, the level of scientific and technological, economic efficiency, energy consumption, improvement of the environment, human resources, the degree of using information technology, and so on. At the same time,

6、 we have carried out general measures of the level of the new-type industrialization in 14 cities and prefecture of Hunan province with the relevant data in 2006. Further, we also have made a cluster analysis on the leve

7、l of the new-type industrialization in 14 cities and prefecture with the SPSS software. Finally, we analyze the problems in the processes of the new-type industrialization in Hunan province and give countermeasures. The

8、main innovation can be summed up in the following points: 1. We take a synthetic measure on the level of new-type industrialization of every city and prefecture in Hunan province and take a sequence. Many researchers com

9、pared Hunan province as a whole with others, and a few focused on city and prefecture, however, the indicators that they used are few. 2. We make a cluster analysis on the level of new-type industrialization in 14 citie

10、s and prefecture by using SPSS, and find that the level of new-type industrialization in the east of Hunan is higher than that in the middle and west of Hunan. Since the existing researches have not conducted systematica
