2、ulfurizationmoltensteeldesulfurizaitondeoxidationprocesseshavebeendevelopedwithmagnesiumvapproducedinsitubyaluminothermicreductionofmagnesiumoxide.Thecheapermagnesiumoxideinsteadofmagnesiummetalisusedasthesecondarysource
3、ofmagnesiumsothatthecostofmagnesiumdesulfurizaitondeoxidationisgreatlyreduced.MgOAlpelletsaregedintoatubewhichisimmersedintothemolteniron.Heatedbyheatconductionfromthemoltenironmagnesiumoxideinthepelletsisreducedbyalumin
4、iumtoproducemagnesiumvapwhichisinjecteddirectlyintothemoltenirontogetherwithArcarriergastoreactwithsulfuroxygendissolvedinit.Thedesulfurizationdeoxidationprocessesareacterizedbyeasysafeoperationlowcostbothofthesulfuroxyg
5、enconcentrationsinthemoltenironcanbequicklydecreasedtoaverylowlevel.TherefiningefficiencyofmagnesiumcanbegreatlyimprovedbyadjustingthemagnesiumpartialpressureintheinjectedbubbletotheoptimumvaluethroughchangingtheArcarrie

11、ofmagnesiumoxideisproposed.Thecheapermagnesiumoxideinsteadofmagnesiummetalisusedasthesecondarysourceofmagnesiumsothatthecostofdesulfurizaitondeoxidationwithmagnesiumisgreatlyreduced.Pelletsmadeofmixtureofmagnesiumoxideal
12、uminumpowdersaregedintoanimmersiontube.Theproducedmagnesiumvapisinjecteddirectlyintothemelt.Theeffectsofexperimentaltemperaturecarriergasflowrateontherefiningratearestudied.Akiicmodeldescribingtherateofdesulfurizationdeo
13、xidaionwithmagnesiumisproposedtoexplaintheexperimentalresults.Anovelmethodofimprovingtherefiningefficiencyofmagnesiumisproposedbyadjustingthemagnesiummolarratiointhebubbletotheoptimumvaluethroughchangingcarriergasflowrat
