2、ich is significantly increased in the low bit-rate compared with other standards, and is available for the low-bandwidth, high-quality network video applications. In order to facilitate the realization of H.264 in the
3、low bit rate and real-time application system, in the papers, the coding algorithms is optimized to some extent. This paper first discusses the basic principles and key technologies of H.264 video coding standard;then
4、 introduces the intra prediction and inter prediction method and analyses their strengths and weaknesses respectively. In intra prediction,by analying the correlation between the 9 prediction directions of 4 × 4 l
5、uminance block,based on the original “searching out“ the 9 prediction directions, I use the “interval-type“ intra prediction method to reduce the prediction direction. In inter prediction, by analying the correlation bet
6、ween the 8 segmentation approaches of 16 ×16 block, finding out the correlationg between macroblock and macroblock, based on the original “searching out“ the 8 segmentation approaches, I use new the “ nearest-style-
7、type“ inter prediction method to reduce the prediction time. In this paper, the principle, processes, core coding, residual coding of two new algorithms, described in detail. The optimized algorithm is realized in the H.
8、264 reference software model JM86, compiled by VC++6.0. Experimenting with some typical video sequences proves that, compared to original algorithm, our optimized algorithm can save about 30% time and reduce the complexi
9、ty of original scheme as well as enhance the real-time performance of the encoder but has almost no changing in the reconstructed picture quality and bitrate. Keywords:H.264; video compression; intra prediction; inter pr
