11、individual students. In [1], Kusano et al. propose a Web-based system to support a programming lecture that enables teachers to give an advice according to the student’s progress by browsing students’ learning histories

12、in a class. Nozaki et al. propose a method of sequential pattern mining specializing in the analysis of programming learning history for conducting effective a programing class according to the level of student’s compreh

13、ension [2]. In addition, Hoshino et al. discuss a programming learning support based on the student’s input feature extracted by analyzing the time-series input pattern that appears when the student is writing a source c

14、ode. Furthermore, Hayami et al. develop a Web-based SQL learning support system for improving the learning level of SQL by executing SQL according to a textbook, and indicates that there is a correlation between a number

15、 of SQL executions and student’s comprehension to SQL by analyzing students’ learning logs and their test score [4].In comparison with these studies, the proposed Java learning system allows us to find students in a simi

16、lar trouble by classifying them into a group based on the work progress for each question and error messages in compiling/executing source codes in a programming class. This feature of the proposed system enables teacher
