2、 Abstract Oil painting had been an independent discipline or painting type for more than hundred years in Chinese history, and it took root and developed in China. During this period, the development of Chinese Oil Paint
3、ing experienced generations of hard work and exploration of oil painters of China. Since the reform and opening up since the eighties, in the context of cultural exchange between China and the west, a series of great cha
4、nges had happened to Chinese culture and art and ideas, the develop of oil painting flourished, its style diversified, and drawing group were plenty. “Theme“ and “diversity“ were brought forward as literary policy in nin
5、eties, and the development of oil painting diversified simultaneously. Chinese oil painting got a further exploration and development toward Modernism with the impact of Modernism paintings in the west. With the arrival
6、of the 21st century and the rapid development of science and technology, Chinese contemporary oil painting goes global in an information age and multiculturalism context. However, the development of Chinese contemporary
7、oil painting is still subject to “easel painting“ Death and the attack of “camera technology“. With the hot art market, how should Chinese contemporary oil painters face these problems and contradictions? The paper analy
8、zes present situation of the development of Chinese contemporary oil painting and reflects on the problems and contradictions it faces in its development in a multiculturalism context. The paper also deeply analyzes indi
