3、hina and Chinese people have begun to be exposed to western culture. Therefore, the Chinese translation of western literary works plays an important role in the cultural exchange between China and the West. The translati

4、on practice report, based on the first four chapters of Go Set a Watchman, written by a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Harper Lee, conducts a preliminary study on the translation of long sentences in literary works with t

5、he guidance of relevance theory. The translation report is divided into five parts. The first part describes the translation task, including the brief introduction of the original text as well as the reasons for text sel

6、ection. The second part presents the translation process, covering the translation preparation, the whole translation process, and revisions of the translation. The third part is the main body of the report, which focuse

7、s on the translation of long sentences in the text from the perspective of relevance theory. The author cites some examples to conclude and analyze the linguistic features of long sentences, including literariness, figur
