3、 on the suffering of the African Americans especially the African American women. In her novels she focuses on the oppressions and repressions that African Americans have suffered from the white-dominant society. By plac

4、ing a woman at the center of her novel, she takes a historical approach in order to reconstruct African American culture and history in slavery. Love is her newly-published novel in 2003, which represents her new contem
