2、implemented in school A and B in Nanjing city and 182 first-grade students were involved in the experiment, aiming to compare the teaching effects and continuous influences of two teaching methods, namely Spelling Method
3、 and “Say-it-Direct“ Method. Meanwhile, this research explored the teaching methods' adaptivity to students with different levels of pinyin basis, as well as the influence to the development of Chinese phonological a
4、wareness. This teaching experiment began on September 1st, 2007 and ended in mid-April, 2008. Through a 8-months longitudinal investigation, and questionnaires and interviews applied on teachers, students and parents, w
5、e made a comparative study on pinyin teaching of Spelling Method and “Say-it-Direct“ Method in primary school. Research findings: 1.Both of the participants in two groups taught by Spelling Method and “Say-it-Direct“ met
6、hod could reach the teaching demands of “reading pinyin correctly“, and the rate of correctness on test materials improved progressively. But Spelling Method was helpful for accelerating the speed of reading on pinyin. A
7、s time went on, there was no significant difference between the teaching effects caused by different methods, for the influential action decreased continuously. 2.Each methods could be applied to those students with basi
8、s of pinyin knowledge. But Spelling Method was more suitable for students who just started to learn, helping them meet the requirements within limited time. 3.“Say-it-Direct“ Method is more helpful to cultivate tone awar
9、eness, syllable-initial consonant awareness and syllable-final vowel and consonant awareness. 4.The testing results couldn't confirm the statement that “Say-it-Direct“ method would save the spelling time and accelera
10、te the reading speed. 5.During classroom teaching and extracurricular tutoring, most of the teachers and parents held a positive attitude toward Spelling Method through entire pinyin teaching course. Key words:chinese p
