2、 Forest Insurance in Hohhot Abstract Forest resources are always encroached by the nature disasters，such as wind， rain，frost and insect pest and so on. The existence of all of these risks will influence the stability and

3、 the continuity of forestry production. So it is very necessary and urgent to give the forest an insurance. As an important risk safeguard mechanism of forestry， the forest insurance is beneficial for the improvement of

4、the weak status of current forest management and protection. Also it can enhance the forest's ability of resisting the disasters， and it will promote the sustainable management and stable development of forestry. Af

5、ter the comprehensive finish of the reformation of the collective forest ownership in 2012， Hohhot ， as the culture and economic center of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region， has actively carried out the insurance work

6、 within the whole autonomous region in the second half of 2013. This paper uses the method of combining the theory and practice and of combining the quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis， respectively in the vie

7、w of the insurance companies and the forester， to analyze the Hohhot forest insurance supply and demand situation， and to comprehensively research the present forest insurance implementation situation and existing proble

8、ms. Also this paper will give the corresponding development suggestions. The research results show that Hohhot forest insurance has made some achievements， but there are still many problems， like insufficient supply and

9、 dissatisfaction of the demand of the forester; low awareness of the forest insurance and low enthusiasm of buying insurance for the commercial forest. There are also many difficulties for the government to push the insu

10、rance work. The difficulty of settlement of claims and low marketization degree are also the problems. Finally based on the above problems and their causes， this paper will put forward concrete countermeasure. We hope th
