4、creatic carcinoma，to determine their clinicopathological significance and their correlation.METHODS:Paraffin-embedded tissue samples were collected from 34 pancreatic carcinoma,7 chronic pancreatitis and 12 normal pancre

5、as patients，who received surgical resection. We examined the expression of HIF-1αand P-gp by immunohistochemistry (SP method). The relationship between HIF-la and P-gp protein expression and clinicopathological factors w

6、as statistically analyzed.RESULTS:The positive staining of HIF-la was shown brown-yellow in the cytoplasm or nucleus and the positive staining of P-gp was brown-yellow in the cytoplasm with some staining on the cellular

7、membrane.1. In pancreatic cancer tissue，the positive rate of HIF-1αprotein expression was 70.50%，in chronic pancreatitis tissue was 28.57% and in normal pancreas tissue was 8.33%. HIF-la protein expression was significan

8、tly higher than that in the chronic pancreatitis tissue and normal pancreas tissues (P＜0.05).2. In pancreatic cancer tissue，the positive rate of P-gp protein expression was 58.82%，in chronic pancreatitis tissue was 14.29
