2、logy and the Song studies have become excessively detailed and exaggerating, and have departed from the purpose of Confucianism that aims to govern the country and rescue the people. At the time of the Qing Dynasty, the
3、officials were in corruption and the national defense was void, the finance was beyond the income, the people’s life was poverty-stricken, the people were revolting inside and imperialist countries invaded our nation out
4、side. when the country suffered from both domestic trouble and imperialist invasion, Wei Yuan did his best to notify and apply ancient classics, and he wanted to find the way to make the country strong. Shu Gu Wei appear
5、s under this academic atmosphere, as an outstanding scholar of the School of New Text Confucianism, Wei Yuan’s Researches of Scriptures firmly follows the thought of the School of New Text Confucianism, and make elucidat
6、ion and interpretation on the Ancient Book of History in his own standpoint. I focused on the moral principles to grasp the implied concept of intrinsic value of Confucian Classics thought of the Shu Gu Wei, to explore a
7、nd reveal Wei Yuan’s Confucian classics thoughts of emphasizing statecraft and its academic value. At the first , the thesis analysis on the academic atmosphere and characteristic of Shu Gu Wei’s writing, then discussed
8、Shu Gu Wei’s distinguishing false and correction to Ma Rong and Zheng Xuan’s ancient book of history, and deeply discussed the reason of writing, purpose, implied implication of modern Confucian Classics thought of Shu G
9、u Wei. Finally, from Shu Gu Wei, analyzed Wei Yuan’s the centre of “change” of innovative thought, described Zhou Shu’s thought of administer country by virtue, and discussed the value of the thought of Shu Gu Wei. Wei Y
10、uan wrote “Shu Gu Wei”, took the Western Han Dynasty and the Eastern Han Dynasty’s ancient Book of History as the dividing line, tried to distinguish the false Eastern Han Dynasty Ma Rong and Zheng Xuan’s ancient Script
11、of “The ancient Book of History”. Wei Yuan criticized the sinology and the song studies harshly, and he explained sublime words with deep meaning of the Western Han Dynasty Modern Script of “The ancient Book of History”.
