3、ards should be similar all over the world and “ a social clause”should be involved into the WTO system. The developing countries firmly protest against these advocates and regard this as the e

4、xcuse of new trade protection. While the members of WTO are disputing on whether to involve the issue of Labor standards into the WTO’ s multilateral system, this issue is going forward in the unilateral and t

5、erritorial fields. Moreover its practical influence upon numerous developing countries, including China, has become more and more tremendous because of its non- governmental trend. Labor- intensive industry occupi

6、es a heavy proportion in the industry structure of our country. According to our export structure, we can note that labor- intensive products such as textile, toys and shoes occupy a big propo

7、rtion. The competitive advantage of these products depends on the lower labor price. Provided the higher labor standard is carried out, and these industries could lose part of the competitive

8、advantage. Actually, in the recent years, SA8000's (social accountability) standard based on the labor standard and initiated by the NGO in the developed country has become a new trade barri

9、er to our country export product and challenges the development of our country. In view of this, through analysis this thesis affirms the positive effect of the labor standard, that is, it pr

10、otects the labor’ s rights. However, due to the low economic level of our country the labor standards will become the trade barrier when they relates to the international trade. So, we should
