2、ion Thoughts Abstract John Goodlad is an famous American contemporary educator. Extensive knowledges and a wealth of practical experiences make him a unique insight into the education issues, and they also contribute to

3、form his own theoretical system in teacher education. The Goodlad’s teacher education thoughts, not only makes a outstanding contribution on the development of American teacher education, but also has a reference and enl

4、ightening significance to the teacher education of our country at this stage. On the basis of existing studies of Goodlad’s education thoughts, this thesis focuses on the thoughts of teacher education. In the introduce p

5、art, there are the cause of this study, meaning of this topics, research status review about Goodlad’s teacher education thoughts. This part also introduces the research framework and research methods. The body paragraph

6、s can be divided into four chapters. Chapter One describes the influencing factors and the theoretical basis of Goodlad’s teacher education thoughts. The influencing factors consist mainly Goodlad’s personal schooling an

7、d work experience, his educational practices activities, as well as criticism of the traditional teacher education. The theoretical basis of Goodlad’s teacher education thoughts comprises three parts: social reconstructi

8、onism, Dewey’s pragmatism education philosophy and Goodlad’s school ecology theory. This thesis respectively discusses these parts. The second chapter discusses the basic propositions concerning Goodlad’s teacher educati

9、on thoughts, including the view about teaching and teacher, the essential condition of teacher’s education quality and the new teacher education system. Goodlad considers teaching as a skill and a specialized occupation.

10、 He also puts forwards his own propositions with respect to the qualities and the works of teachers. Goodlad think that the traditional teacher education fails to cultivate teachers who can meet the actual needs in schoo

11、ls. Therefore, he propose 20 postulates about better teacher eduation, and design a new teacher education system which embraces pre-education and post-development. Chapter three expounds the strategies and routes that ho

12、w to renew the teacher education. Goodlad believes that the strategy to develop teacher education is to establish the university-school partnership,and renew the teacher education and schooling simultaneously. And its co

13、ncrete measures are to establish “the National Network for Education Renewal”, “the Institute for Educational Inquiry”, “Center of Pedagogy”. This chapter briefly discusses the use of Goodlad’s teacher education thoughts
