4、t is an encyclopaedia with a large system contains rich contents include three parts. Firstly, we should make sure that the main content of Lv’s Commentaries of History is not the religious belief, and it is a book full
5、of rational spirit on the basis of blends the thought of the hundred schools. However, it keeps a lot of historical records about ancient Chinese religions in pre-Qin period unwittingly: the first part builds a religious
6、 system, the system contains 12 articles, they enumerate all worship ceremonies of the year and classify them as 12 chapters according to the months. In addition, the rest of the articles of Lv’s Commentaries of History
7、also keep lots of information about ancient Chinese religions in pre-Qin period. In consideration of the complexity of Lv’s Commentaries of History, therefore, the paper will analyze and expound the ancient Chinese relig
8、ions in pre-Qin period mentioned in Lv’s Commentaries of History on the basis of classifying these information, The paper will expound by three parts: the first part is about the religions and worship ceremonies mentione
9、d in the 12 articles, they were guided by two standards: the harmony between the earth and sky and Five Virtue’s cycle. The religions and worship ceremonies mentioned in the 12 articles reflect the national religious bel
10、ief in ancient China, so the second part will integrate and analyze them from four chapters detailedly: the worship for God, Ancestry Worship, Natural Worship and the Worship for the Four Spiritual Creatures, and the Anc
11、ient Minority’s Worship. The first chapter deals mainly with the worship for God, also the supreme god. The supreme god was called as “God” in Shang dynasty and was called as “Heaven” in Zhou dynasty, the two names were
12、combined together in Lv’s Commentaries of History. The second chapter is about the ancestry worship reflected in Lv’s Commentaries of History. It contains the Worshipping to the Male Ancestor, to the Closing Ancestors of
13、 Clans and Families and to the Female Ancestors. The Male Ancestor consist mainly of Three Sovereigns, Five Emperors and Five Heroes Affiliated to them. The Worshipping to the Closing Ancestors of Clans and Families pay
14、more attention to the genetic connection than the former worship, and the main form is the family’s temple sacrifice activity. The third chapter contains the Nature Worship and the Four Spiritual Creatures’ Worship. The
15、objects of the Nature Worship contain celestial body, weather, soil and grain, animals and plants. Because the figures of the Four Spiritual Creatures originated in animals and the content is rare, so they are juxtaposed
16、 to the animals. The forth chapter is the Ancient Minority’s Worship, it contains Diqiang’s Fire Worship and Jingyue’s Ghost Worship. The last part will list the contradictions reflecting the religions’ feature and chang
