2、ship between SPECT and EEG in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Patients and Methods: 18 patients (11 male and 7 female patients) with mean age 53.38 years were enrolled in prospective study conducted from 1st April 2
3、013 to 31st November 2013 in the department of Neurology, Xinjiang Medical University first affiliated hosp ital with diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke. Both SPECT and short timed EEG were performed in each patient with
4、in time interval of 24 hours. Patients were assessed on day 1 according to NIHSS criteria to see the severity of the disease. SPECT was analyzed by the specialists in the nuclear department and CBF was calculated by draw
5、ing region of interest (ROI) while EEG was automatically analyzed using Nicolet One Modular Neurodiagnostic Software System, LTM module, VIASYS Healthcare version 5.71 revisions and EEG specialists. Result: In our study,
6、 among 18 patients, 83.3% patients had no EEG changes with rCBF>35-50 ml/100g/min, but 16.7% patients showed EEG change with grade I. With rCBF 25-35 ml/100g/min, 44.4% patients had grade I EEG changes, 22.2%patients had
7、 grade II EEG changes while 33.3% patients had grade III EEG changes. All 100% patients had grade III EEG changes with rCBF<25 ml/100g/min, which was statistically significant (p = 0.001). Conclusion: It is concluded tha
8、t reduction in rCBF from normal to lower level can be seen as hypoperfusion on SPECT while electrical activity changes in EEG in the brain, earlier to other imaging modalities from normal to lower level suggesting reduce
