2、uality of teachers has become a concerned question. To improve the quality of higher education, universities must pay more attention on teachers’ professional development, and provide proper approach for them. Especiall
3、y for those teachers who are in career entry phase (work less than 3 years), how to meet the need of their professional development is the key to their career, and is also an important matter to the improvement of educat
4、ion quality and the development of universities. Therefore, it is necessary to do the research on the university teachers’ professional development at career entry phase. Based on the theory of previous research on teach
5、ers’ professional development, this research using documentation, questionnaire, interview, focus on teachers at the career entry phase, and ascertain their character and requirement and find the problems hitherto existe
6、d; then analyze the influencial factors, and put forward some suggestions according to the factors. The dissertation consists of five parts. Part one—introduction. It mainly introduces the reason, the significance, the
7、main train of thought and the methods of the research. Part two—connotation and the phases of university teachers’ professional development. University teachers’ professional development is the process that teachers
8、 consistently develop their professional quality under the effect of interior and exterior factors. It can be divided into five phases: career entry, stabilization, reassessment, conservatism and disengagement. Part thre
