5、thefactsleadingtoclassroomsilence.213Gradetwostudents(149male64female)3teachersfromasenihighschoolinGanzhoucityparticipatedinthisstudy.Usingaquestionnaireclassroomobservationinterviewthisstudyinvestigatedthecurrentsituat

6、ionofstudents’silenceinclassroomexaminedthefactsleadingtoclassroomsilenceinasenihighschoolEnglishclassroom.Italsoattemptedtofindwaystohelpstudentsgetinvolvedinclassroomactivities.Onthebasisofthefindingsofthisstudythisstu

7、dyattemptedtooffersomeimplicationsfEnglishlearninginsenihighschools.SPSS17.0wasusedtoanalyzethequantitativedata.Inadditionthedatafromclassroomobservationinterviewswerealsocarefullyanalyzedsoastoprovidesomesupplementarysu

8、ppttothequantitativedata.Thestudyproducedanumberofresultsrelatedtostudents’silenceinclassroom.FirstmoststudentsstayedsilentinEnglishclassroominsenihighschool.Teacherstookupapproximately55.18%oftheclasstime.Intheinterview

9、smoststudentsconfessedthattheypreferredtokeepsilenceinEnglishclassroom.Nextthestudyrevealedanumberoffactsresultinginstudents’classroomsilenceinthreeperspectives:studentsteachersculture.Fromtheaspectofstudentfactsanxietyl

10、ackofconfidenceintrovertpersonalitypoEnglishproficiencypassivelearninghabitsexertedvitalinfluenceinthefmationofclassroomsilence.Fromtheperspectiveofteachersteachercenteredteachingmethodinappropriatequestioningstrategiesd
