3、al cell carcinoma and a normal contralateral kidney. To further investigate the clinical effects and safety ofelective nephron sparing surgery in renal cell carcinoma patients. Methods: A retrospective analysis of the cl

4、inical documents of 32 cases of RCCC who underwent nephron sparing surgery. Of the 32 patients from March 2004 to February 2008，22 were male and 19 were female，with an average age of 51.7 years．The mean diameter of the t

5、umors was 3.65 cm.The evaluated factors included postoperative complications and incidence of postoperative local recurrence．At the same time we choose 40 RCCC cases belong to the clinical stage T1a with radical nephrect

6、omy as the retrospective control.Results：The operation was performed successfully in all the 72 patients.There was no significant difference between the two groups with age,tumor diameter,pathological classification, ope

7、rative time,blood loss during operation.At the end of the follow up，no patients treated with NSS had died,none of them tumour related. Conclusions: NSS is as effective as RN for the treatment of localized RCC on long-ter

8、m follow-up and NSS can safe and effective to retain the functional renal units with less local recurrence rate.It is selective for RCC patients with localized unilateral tumor and a normal contralateral kidney. Key word
