3、ablish more roundly and rationally a series of courses of ethno-music education as soon as possible. As a foundation of ethno-music education, folk songs contain abundant emotion, cultural meaning and strong nationality,
4、 which are of irreplaceable effectiveness and significance to the cultivating and improving of ethno-music character on modern undergraduate students. Consequently, the non-art universities need to open widely appreciati
5、ng courses of China folk songs, and introduce some teaching contents of folk songs, modern, novel and plentiful, to the students in order to make them understand by studying the general situation of abundant folk song r
6、esources in our country as well as their deep cultural connotation, which will bring a good effect on the ethno-music education. Beginning with the analysis about the present status of teaching and teaching materials o
7、f folk song in current non-art universities, this paper discovers some insufficiency in present teaching and materials. According to the current new conception of course design and the characteristics of the folk song i
8、tself, some principles for the folk song teaching of non-art universities are proposed in this paper, on the basis of which the contents of folk song teaching are reorganized. In addition, the teaching program of folk s
9、ong for non-art universities is constructed preliminarily, and the designs of some curriculum cases are also carried out. This paper consists of four parts: Chapter 1 presents some governing principles based on the cur
10、rent new conception of course design, the characteristics of folk song and the individuality and requirements of undergraduate students. Chapter 2 puts forward the principles for selecting individual folk songs for the
