3、sexpingregulatycomplianceglobaleconomiccrisisintensecompetitivepressuretothrivesurvivemanufacturingfirmsmustmaintaincesuppliers.Thussupplierionevaluationrepresentsoneofthesignificantrolesofpurchasingsupplymanagementfunct
4、ions(ChenHuang2006Millingtonetal.2006Dahel2003EnglLeenders1975ewis1943).Weberetal.(1991)attestthat“…itisimpossibletosuccessfullyproducelowcosthighqualityproductswithoutsatisfacty…ionmaintenanceofacompetentgroupofsupplier
5、s”.Kumaraetal(2003)commentthatstrategicpartnershipwithrightsuppliersmustbeintegratedwithinthesupplychainindertocontaincostsbyeliminatingwasteimprovingqualityimprovingflexibilitytomeetendcustomers’valueexpectationreducing
6、leadtimeatdifferentstageofthesupplychain.Thustheneedtothebestsupplierisindeedanessentialstrategicissueimperativefsupplychaineffectivenessefficiency(Kumaraetal.2003).Arguablytobuildatopnotchperfmingsupplychaindemsthatpurc
7、hasingsupplychainmanagersevaluaterightsuppliers.Kumaraetal(2003)emphasizethat“thechoiceoftheright[supplier]isacrucialdecisionwithwiderangingimplicationsinasupplychain.[Suppliers]playanimptantroleinachievingtheobjectiveso
8、fthesupplymanagement.Leeetal.(2001)indicatethatsupplierionrepresentsavitalquantitativequalitativeaspectsofadecisionmustbeconsidered.AHPencompassesthreebasicfunctionsincludingstructuringcomplexitymeasuringonarationscalesy
9、nthesizing.Itisapowerfuloperationalresearchmethodologyusefulinstructuringcomplexmulticriterionproblemsdecisionsinmanyfieldssuchaslogisticssupplychainmanagementmarketingengineeringeducationeconomics.MeritsassociatedwithAH
10、Pincludeitsrelianceoneasilyderivedexpertjudgmentdataabilitytoreconciledifferences(inconsistencies)inexpertjudgmentsperceptionstheexistenceofExpertChoiceSoftwarethatimplementstheAHP(Calantoneetal.1998).Theremainingptionof
