1、全國英語等級考試(Public English Test System，簡稱PETS)是教育部考試中心設(shè)計并負責的全國性英語水平考試，PETS-2是PETS五個級別中的中下級。湖南省教育考試院決定從2007年起，由PETS-2口試代表我省高考外語類口試。因此引出了PETS-2口試成績能否反映出高考以及現(xiàn)行高中《英語課程標準》要求的問題。
本文將從對比PETS-2口試大綱與高中《英語課程標準》七級目標(湖南省普通高中畢業(yè)要求)的
2、吻合程度來探討PETS-2口試作為湖南省高考外語類口試的內(nèi)容效度。
劉潤清和韓寶成關(guān)于內(nèi)容效度的理論最終被選為本文的理論框架，該框架將主要涉及PETS-2口試大綱與新《英語課程標準》七級目標內(nèi)容標準的對比分析。
研究結(jié)果表明，PETS-2口試作為湖南省高考外語類口試的內(nèi)容效度較低，具體表現(xiàn)為：1、湖南省沒有高考英語口語考試大綱。2、PETS-2考試與高考的設(shè)計背景、目的、性質(zhì)皆不同。3、PETS-2要求掌握的語言技能
